Chinese Style Thick Soup

Beancurd,Corn and White Cabbage Soup

Ingredients :

150 g beancurd(diced and scalded),
 1 cup cream style sweet corn
 150 g white cabbage(shredded and washed)
4 cups stock

Seasoning:

Pinch of salt

Sauce:

3 1/2 tbsp water chestnut starch, 
4 tbsp water

Method:

1. Put all ingredients in a pot
2.Pour the stock and bring to the boil. Boil for 15 minutes.Sprinkle salt to season and thicken with sauce.

Pumpkin and minced fish soup:

Ingredients:

300 g Pumpkin
300 g belly of grass carp,
2 slices ginger
1 stalk spring onion(cut into sections)
4 cups stock

Seasoning:

pinch of salt
pinch of pepper

Sauce:

3 tbsp water chestnut starch
3 tbsp water

Method:

1. Steam pumpkin ( for approx 15 minutes) till soft, Mash finely

2. Steam fish with ginger, onion and oil, Bone and set aside,
3. Put the stock in a pot,Add mashed pumpkin and boned fish meat. Bring to the boil. Add seasoning and thicken with sauce
